The plants, trees and shrubs at Four Winds Farm are vibrant today. It seems the gardens are bursting with excitement. Both the rain and the moon coming-into-full are contributing to a rush of growth. This morning a bed of ‘snow on the mountain’ flowers all blossomed in unison, as if choreographed. Yarrow flowers are doing the same; along with new iris, peony and roses. I rejoice.
Last night, I transplanted young herbs and vegetable plants; working way past dark. Gotta love outdoor lighting! With rain predicted, it was a perfect time to sow seeds; plus set in herbs I bought Saturday at the Webster Grove, MO herb sale and flowers purchased Friday from Bergman’s open house. It paid off. The young plants are off to well-watered beginning. I’ve included a morning photo of the education herb garden.
Today, I prepare for the my medicinal herb classes this week. We are looking at ways to keep the immune system vibrantly strong. Signs of a weak immune system can include:
- Fatigue/low energy
- Unexplained aches & pains
- Low resistance to illness
- Unbalances blood sugar
- Irritability/mood swings
- Rectal or vaginal itch
There are many safe and inexpensive ways to strengthen the immune system by removing possible causes of these problems. Natural health looks at causes. When educated in how disease builds in our body, we are empowered to take charge of our health. Tip: raw garlic has been shown to kill Candida fungus and certain parasites. Both of these systemic invaders cause the immune system to become stressed.
Be well, Deborah
