Flowers make us smile. They bring us joy, just by looking at them; they offer an emotional lift.  Through color, fragrance, texture, form, expression, geometry and more; each feature of a plant is part of Nature’s system of balance and healing.

Flower Remedies (essences) are water-based infusions made from flower of a plant. They are uniquely used to address mind-body health, offering effective help children and teens, adults and pets. Issues addressed include: weight loss, PTSD (post-traumatic shock or distress), depression, anxiety, stress, anger and fear.

During a session with Deborah, the client will define the main issue to be addressed. A personalized remedy will be prepared (which will last for 1-2 months). After the first session, another 1 or 2 may be helpful. During a session, Deborah often employs a pattern-breaking techique such a NLP. Nutrition suggestions may also be discussed.

Flower Remedies (Essences) do not interfere with any medication.

History of Flower Remedies

Dr. Edward Bach, a British Physician and Homeopath, brought flower remedies to the Western Europe in the 1920’s and 1930’s. He spent his whole life searching for the purest methods of healing. Bach believed, as many doctors do today, that attitude of mind plays a vital role in maintaining health and recovering from illness. When he died in 1936, Bach had developed a complete system of 38 flowers remedies, each prepared from the flowers of wild plants, trees or bushes. These remedies (plus more developed later by the Flower Essence Services and others) work by treating the individual rather than the disease or its symptoms.

Searching for a way to help his patient avoid getting ill in the first place, Dr. Bach noticed that people often got sick after traumatic events, and when they seemed to hold harmful emotions deep within.

Bach began to understand the each flower remedy contained a specific imprint which brought a balancing, repairing and re-building influence to energetic imbalances in humans; especially at the emotional, mental and spiritual levels. The remedies work on the “principle of like connecting to like”.  For example: the growth characteristics of the flowering plant match that of the human’s specific imbalance.

Bach’s 38 essences became very popular. They are easy to research online or through his books.

Impressed by Dr. Bach’s success, Richard Katz and Patricia Kaminski began exploring his work in the 1970’s. Since then, they have developed more than 160 additional flower essences. They founded the Terra Flora bio-dynamic gardens, Flower Essence Services and the Flower Essence Society: Pioneers in the field of flower essences, their passion to the study and research has added much to this powerful field of herbal therapy. Psychologists and counselors around the world use this form of therapy to work effectively with clients.

Looking Deeper: “Flower remedies are able, like beautiful music or any uplifting thing, to give us inspiration…to bring us peace and relieve our suffering. They balance, not by attacking an disease, but by flooding our bodies with the beautiful vibrations of our Higher Nature, in the presence of which, disease melts away as snow in the sunshine.” Dr. Bach

Dr. Bach never meant his 38 flower remedies to be therapeutic in the sense of curing a disease. He did, however, understand that true healing comes from within. Working in London during and after WWI, he saw tremendous emotional trauma. This helped him realize that overcoming mental stress opens the way for a person’s natural healing energy to easily flow through the body, raise the vibrational frequency and allow the God-given healing process to occur.

He believed: “The greatest gift that you can give to others is to be happy and hopeful yourself; then you draw them up out of their despondency.”

By the 1990’s, the use of flower essences had expanded through-out the world. Many additional flowers were made into the water-infused preparations. The understanding emerged that flower remedies work though the central nervous system to clear deep emotions which have caused subluxations over time. When these energetic blockages are gently removed, one’s health can dramatically improve (emotional, mental, physical and spiritual).

Science has come to understand how the body works in complex systems. Elaborate energetic systems function and interact with the physical. Energy medicine is the new frontier of western science, and flower remedies are part of this field.

Deborah’s Training & Experience
